Everytime I do a newborn photo session, I am reminded of what an incredible time of life this is. Cherish these early years…they go by in a flash. My boys are 6 and 8 and their newborn days seem like a lifetime ago. But I love that in my job I get to relive the wonder of the newborn stage…

Only 6 days young for his photo session, this beautiful boy was so comfortable being held by his father that we decided to capture the moment. I love this first one… The beautiful knit with the heart shaped button is by Mamique and if anyone’s in the market for some gorgeous newborn wear, then go straight to their blog after this!

Truth is this little boy could not have been any more angelic. When he was awake, he barely fussed; once he fell asleep, he was OUT. This means more fun for me…I can go ahead and put him in a hat or hammock and he just keeps on sleeping comfortably. (Hey that’s what a hammock’s for, right?) Anyway, here he is in all his preciousness… the true angel.

I’m not gonna lie…this could’ve been my most challenging newborn to date. He did NOT want to go to sleep or stay asleep. Could’ve been because he was past the two week mark; could’ve been he was overtired; could’ve been he was nervous about his debut photo shoot. Whatever the reason…you’re totally forgiven, buddy! Good things come to those who wait…and I’d say our patience paid off. He is an absolute beauty… Thanks for hanging in there mom and dad!

My first day back from a week long photography workshop (amazing, btw), and although I could’ve used a rest, I was very inspired and ready to get back to work. I got a last minute call from this family to photograph their newborn… He is an absolute beauty as you can see, and so are his brother and sister.

I really love this first one with proud big sister holding him…

Talk about a good looking family…!

This was my third time doing a session with this beautiful family, this time for their new baby girl! As you can see, she is an angel with big, dark eyes and a full head of hair. (I love that!) She prefers to sleep in mama’s arms or when she’s wrapped up tight in a warm blanket…so we obliged….

Here she is bundled up and looking adorable…I love the coloring in this one. White definitely becomes her…

This session was a combination of maternity and newborn. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting this family before and after their baby’s arrival, to share in the excitement of anticipation and the joy that is so unique and special to becoming a parent for the first time. Their baby boy came a bit earlier than they expected…but he is healthy and absolutely beautiful. Here are just a few from both sessions…

Lately, it seems like most of my sessions have been newborns. That’s just fine with me – with what Mother Nature’s been giving us, I don’t need to venture outside. Besides, infants are a captive audience, if you know what I mean. Not to mention the cute factor…I know I may be repeating myself, but just look at how sweet this little guy is…

This session was a bit of a drive for me…but worth every minute of it. How adorable is he? I knew he would be…his family makes beautiful babies. I’ve had two sessions with his older cousin and have one scheduled soon for another baby cousin. From the time I got there, he slept like a champ and was a beautiful model for these little Mamique Design knits he’s wearing. He could’ve won an award for preciousness!

OK…I have two sons. I love boys…always have. Was a bit of a tom-boy growing up, loved playing sports, kept up with my four brothers pretty darn well and am definitely in my comfort zone around boys. BUT, there was just no way humanly possible not to want a baby girl during this session. Look at this precious little face. To top it off, her mom put her in the most adorable pink pettiskirt with matching flower barrette…the clincher! Actually, she had many awesome girly accessories!

Check out this little man’s baby blues. What an easy-going baby… 3 months old and very content for the whole session (until he got hungry, anyway.) Look at these adorable expressions. I just love the way he holds his hands together,too!
